That's the official 2026-27 range across Florida's 67 districts and four grade bands, from the state's published schedule. Step Up For Students describes the overall average as about $8,000. FTC, FES-EO and PEP all use the same amount table.
Sample counties (K-3 band, 2026-27)
| District | K-3 award |
|---|---|
| Monroe (highest in the state) | $12,217 |
| Miami-Dade | $8,745 |
| Hillsborough | $8,429 |
| Orange | $8,420 |
Amounts step down slightly for older grades in most counties — the statewide floor is $7,463 (Volusia, grades 9-12). Look up your exact district and grade on the official award schedule (PDF).
Who sets the number?
Per the official schedule: "The scholarship amounts are established annually by the Florida Legislature in the state budget." So the figure refreshes every year — bookmark this page; we re-check it against the new schedule each cycle.
Multiply it by your family
Two kids ≈ $16,000 a year. Over a full K-12 run, a two-child family at the average award is in six figures of education funding. Try your own numbers in the calculator on our home page.
